Central Linn School District provides a wide range of learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom. These programs support social, emotional, physical, and leadership development and are grouped into three categories:
Co-Curricular Activities
Activities directly connected to classroom learning or a course (examples: band, FFA, field trips, academic competitions, performances, etc.).
Extra-Curricular Activities
School-sponsored clubs and enrichment programs that deepen student interests but are not tied to a course (examples: student leadership, robotics club, yearbook, art club, etc.).
Athletics
Organized sports and physical competition governed by district policy and OSAA requirements.
Although each program type is different in purpose, all three are held to the same legal, safety, equity, and student-access requirements. Every student is entitled to fair treatment, safe supervision, and appropriate accommodations under state and federal law.
Participation in these programs is an extension of the educational experience in Central Linn School District, and students are supported in developing teamwork, sportsmanship, responsibility, and a strong sense of belonging. No student may be excluded from participation on the basis of disability, gender, race, religion, or economic circumstance.
