Transportation Assistance
When life gets tough, staying in school shouldn’t have to be.
Students who are experiencing homelessness must be provided with transportation to and from their school of origin. The term school of origin means the school that a child or youth attended when permanently housed or the school in which the child or youth was last enrolled.
The McKinney-Vento Program
McKinney-Vento supports students and families who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. If a child or youth lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence, they may qualify for services through this program.
Who Might Qualify? Students and families may be eligible if they are:
- Unaccompanied youth living without a parent or legal guardian
- Staying with friends or relatives due to loss of housing or economic hardship (also known as “doubling up”)
- Living in substandard or inadequate conditions (e.g., no utilities, overcrowding, unsafe structures, garages, basements not intended for living)
- Living in cars, RVs, tents, or on the street
- Staying in shelters, transitional housing, or motels
- Couch surfing or moving from place to place

Clothing Closet
There is a clothing closed maintained by the Family Services/Wellness Program that serves all of our student population. Check with the office for location information.
There is a wide variety of items ranging from tops and bottoms to shoes/socks and undergarments. Most clothing is gently used but some is new. We also have a wide range of hygiene products available (shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes, etc.).
The Clothing Closets are open during school hours, and everyone is eligible to use them.
Donations are always welcome!
