We believe that meeting student needs is primary directive
This means that all students—regardless of ability, language, income, housing status, immigration status, gender, race, or family background—must have full access to a meaningful, high-quality education. We do not see diversity as a barrier to overcome, but as the centerpiece of human development and civic learning. Central Linn School District is committed to helping every student feel safe, healthy, supported, included, and ready to learn. Student Services brings together the people, programs, and resources that help remove barriers, respond to individual needs, and strengthen the connection among students, families, schools, and community partners.
Families do not need to know which department or program to contact before asking for help. Begin with your student’s teacher, school office, counselor, administrator, or the District Office. Staff will listen, help identify what is needed, and connect you with the appropriate person or service.
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support—MTSS
MTSS is CLSD’s coordinated framework for identifying student strengths and needs early and providing the right level of academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional support. All students receive strong universal instruction and schoolwide supports, while additional targeted or individualized assistance is provided when a student needs more.
Visit the MTSS PAGE to learn how supports are selected, provided, monitored, and adjusted.
Student Health & Wellness
Healthy students are better able to learn, participate, and build positive relationships. Student Health & Wellness includes school health services, medication administration, chronic health-condition planning, required health records, health screenings, mental and emotional wellness, counseling supports, prevention programs, and connections to outside providers when appropriate.
Visit the STUDENT HEALTH & WELLNESS PAGE for health requirements, forms, procedures, wellness resources, and information about requesting support.
Student & Family Resources
Students may face barriers that affect attendance, participation, learning, or family stability. CLSD helps families navigate enrollment, registration, attendance, transportation, meals, technology, school supplies, community resources, housing instability, and other needs that may affect a student’s educational experience.
Visit the STUDENT & FAMILY RESOURCES PAGE to find available District and community supports and learn whom to contact for assistance.
Services for Special Student Populations
Some students have legal protections, individualized plans, specialized instruction, language-development needs, or additional services connected to their circumstances. CLSD provides and coordinates services for students with disabilities, English learners, talented and gifted students, students experiencing housing instability or foster care, military-connected students, and students who are pregnant or parenting.
Visit the SERVICES FOR SPECIAL STUDENT POPULATIONS PAGE to learn about eligibility, rights, plans, services, and District contacts.
How to Request Support
A student, parent, guardian, teacher, or staff member may raise a concern or request assistance. Depending on the need, the next step may include:
- A conversation with the student and family;
- Review of available information;
- Coordination with teachers or specialists;
- Development of a support plan;
- Referral to a District program;
- Evaluation for specialized services;
- Connection with a community resource; or
- Continued monitoring and follow-up.
Information is handled respectfully and shared only as permitted by law and as necessary to provide appropriate support. Requesting assistance does not diminish a student’s rights, opportunities, or standing within the school community.
If a student is in immediate danger or experiencing a medical or safety emergency, seek emergency assistance immediately.
