Central Linn School District is committed to recognizing and supporting students who demonstrate exceptional potential or advanced performance in one or more areas. Our Talented and Gifted (TAG) program is designed to ensure that identified students have access to learning opportunities that provide appropriate challenge, encourage continued growth, and support the development of their individual strengths and interests.
TAG services at Central Linn are guided by the understanding that gifted learners often require educational experiences that extend beyond grade-level expectations through enrichment, acceleration, differentiated instruction, and opportunities for deeper exploration of content and skills. Our goal is not simply to provide more work, but to provide more meaningful and appropriately challenging learning experiences that help students continue to grow academically and personally.

Identification and Services
Oregon law requires school districts to identify and serve students who demonstrate the potential to perform at exceptionally high levels when compared with others of the same age, experience, or environment. Students may be identified in areas such as intellectual giftedness, academic talent, creativity, leadership, or specific academic areas using multiple measures and sources of information.
Once identified, students work with educators to ensure that appropriate instructional supports, differentiation, and opportunities for challenge are available within their educational program.
Central Linn School District maintains a state-approved Talented and Gifted Education Plan that outlines the district’s procedures for identification, service options, program goals, parent rights, and opportunities available to students participating in the TAG program. Families are encouraged to review the plan to better understand the services and supports available to gifted learners throughout the district.
Parent and Family Partnership
Families play an important role in supporting gifted learners and are valuable partners throughout the identification and educational planning process. Parents or guardians who have questions about TAG identification, services, referrals, or program opportunities are encouraged to contact their child’s school for additional information and assistance.
